We’re looking for high spirited & compassionate Disability Support Workers. If you’re passionate about empowering individuals with disabilities and commited to providing person-centred care, you might just be the star we’re seeking.
What is the role?
As part of the Maricc Support team, you’ll be involved in transforming lives.
In this Disability Support Worker role, you will become the bridge to brighter tomorrows for people with disabilities. You will actively nurture their unique talents and abilities, assist with daily tasks, and help implement, and oversee their goals and life aspirations.
Working Hours: As a casual employee, you are required to work the hours allocated to you, no specific minimum or maximum number of hours can be garunteed.
Rostering: 24-hours and 7 days (may include day, afternoon, night, sleepover, and public holiday shifts).
The support services you’ll be involved in include:
- In-home care: You’ll provide support in a participant’s home, providing the support they require in the comfort of their own home and community.
- Community Support: You’ll kindle independence and nurture a sense of belonging, inclusion and participation in the community.
- Short-Term Accommodation/Supported Independent Living /Respite: You’ll provide daily living supports within a shared or unshared accomodation, fostering independence and a sense of home and a quality of life.
- Mentorship: You’ll help encourage and guide the social development and welfare of participants to promote their independence, expression and confidence.
Requirements
- Certificate III Individual Support in Disability or equivalent (Optional)
- Previous experience in disability sector or equivalent (Optional)
- Good communication & Time management skills
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid certificate & CPR
- Right to work in Australia (Granted Visa Letter)
- Drivers Licence & Access to a car
- Ability to acquire all necessary qualification within 12 months of commencement of employment
